Pre-construction Public Information Meeting Scheduled For Three Oaks Parkway Widening from Corkscrew Road to Alico Road

Fort Myers, FL, October 30, 2006 – The Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) will conduct a pre-construction public information meeting for the widening of Three Oaks Parkway from Corkscrew Road to Alico Road from 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Three Oaks Banquet & Conference Center, 20991 Three Oaks Parkway, Estero, Florida.

This meeting will be held in an "open house" format and no formal presentation will be given. The public is invited to attend anytime between the hours of 5 - 7 p.m.  Informational displays about the study will be available for review and representatives from LC DOT will be available to answer questions.  Final comment for the project will be taken and included in the project record.

The purpose of this project is to provide an alternate north/south transportation corridor between U.S. 41 and Interstate 75 (I-75). The project consists of widening the existing two-lane roadway to four lanes and eventually to six lanes from Corkscrew Road to Alico Road. A portion of the roadway will also be realigned along I-75 around the eastern boundary of the Cypress Chase neighborhood.  The existing roadway west of Cypress Chase will remain a local road.

The public is encouraged to attend this workshop and view the final design plans.  Anyone needing special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 should contact Kaye Molnar at kmolnar@cella.cc or phone 239-337-1071.  If you have any questions about the meeting or would like information about the project, contact Ms. Molnar.
