Second St. from Fowler St. to Seaboard St. Will Close
Oct 10, 2006 City of Fort Myers For Immediate Release Second Street from Fowler Street to Seaboard Street will close to motorists traveling east to Palm Beach Boulevard/SR 80 Fort Myers, FL, October 10, 2006 - Beginning Thursday, October 12th at 10 PM, Second Street from Fowler Street to Seaboard Street will close to motorists traveling east to Palm Beach Boulevard/SR 80. Motorists traveling over the Edison Bridge to North Fort Myers can still use Second Street or Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to access Park Avenue and the Edison Bridge. Motorists traveling to Palm Beach Blvd/SR 80 from Second Street in the downtown area will be redirected south on Fowler Street, east on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, north on Palm Avenue, north on Seaboard Street, and east on Palm Beach Blvd/SR 80. Palm Avenue from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard will be converted to a one-way street (two lanes northbound). Motorists traveling to Palm Beach Blvd/SR 80 may also use another north-south roadway such as Veronica S. Shoemaker Blvd., Ortiz Avenue or I-75 to access Palm Beach Blvd/SR 80. This closure of Second Street will last approximately two weeks and is necessary so crews can make traffic changes required for the upcoming City of Fort Myers First Street (SR 80) Utility Project.
