Summerlin Gladiolus Intersection to Close Nights of Oct. 1-2
Sep 28, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Amy Davies, Lee County DOT, 479-8589 SUMMERLIN/GLADIOLUS INTERSECTION TO CLOSE NIGHTS OF OCT. 1ST AND 2ND FORT MYERS, Fla. (September 28, 2006) – Thru traffic in ALL DIRECTIONS at the intersection of Summerlin Road and Gladiolus Drive will be closed Sunday and Monday nights to allow for placement of two large beams needed for the overpass that currently is being constructed. Phoenix Construction will be placing two, 130-foot, 80-ton steel beams each night for construction of the overpass at Summerlin Road and Gladiolus Drive. The intersection will be closed Sunday night, October 1st, and Monday night, October 2nd, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should avoid this intersection and use alternate routes; U.S. 41, Cypress Lake Drive, and Winkler Road (see attached map). Access to businesses at the intersection will be provided. Law enforcement will be available to assist with maintenance of traffic.
