MEDIA ACCESS TO LEE COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY 

This advisory is for general information purposes only. During a recent SWFCADI (Southwest Florida Coalition for Accurate Dissemination of Information) meeting, it was recommended that this contact information be reiterated.  

For the most immediate response to your inquiry regarding any and all Lee County Public Safety-related issues contact Paul Filla by pager at 239-930-0438; additional contact information, office phone 239-335-1606 or e-mail address at pfilla@leegov.com. All incoming calls to the office phone are directed to a mobile phone, when out of the office. 

Lee County Public Safety is responsible for:

•Maintaining a county-wide fully enhanced emergency telephone number system, 911.

•Planning and response to large-scale emergency and disasters.

•Providing ambulance-related care and transport by ground and air.

•Maintaining a county-wide emergency radio system.

•Dispatching fire, ambulance and emergency management resources.

In regard to ambulance-related care and transport by ground and air, the below represents a template of information that can be released. No additional information can be released in consideration of a patient's privacy.

"Units of Lee County EMS responded to a reported (event) at (time) in (north, south, east, west) Lee County. 

Lee County EMS units responded, provided necessary treatment and (did/did not) transport victims to area hospitals. 

Lee County Public Safety can not answer questions to a specific fire incident outside the scope of the Public Safety response. Questions regarding fire incidents should be directed to the appropriate fire district. 

Lee County Public Safety can not answer questions regarding law enforcement issues outside the scope of the Public Safety response. Questions regarding law enforcement should be directed to the appropriate law enforcement agency. 

Lee County Emergency Medical Services provides primary advanced life support care for all of Lee County including Boca Grande with the exception of Lehigh Acres and Fort Myers Beach. Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue and Fort Myers Beach Fire Rescue are the primary response and transport while Lee County EMS is the secondary response and transport to these areas. 

If you are looking for a recording of a specific 911 call, it will be important to contact the appropriate agency. The Lee County E 9-1-1 program can assist in determining who the appropriate agency is, but does not release 911 recordings.
