Lee County MEDSTAR or EMS Helicopter Program

WHEN REFERRING TO LEE COUNTY Emergency Medical Services Air Operations Program OR HELICOPTERS

Lee County EMS operates two helicopters that respond to medical emergencies. Earlier this summer, both of the helicopters have a distinct paint job that can be seen below or on the website referenced below. When referring to the Lee County EMS helicopter or the air ambulance operations, it is most appropriate to use MEDSTAR as the name of the program and the helicopter.

Lee County EMS air ambulance operations is not lifeflight, medflight, medevac or any other name coined by programs in other parts of the country. In fact, other programs have trademarked these names. MEDSTAR (all capitals) is the recognized program name. MEDSTAR is also the name of the helicopters regardless of which of the two helicopters has responded.
