Sanibel Causeway Bridge "C" Repairs Complete
Aug 8, 2006 Lee County Department of Transportation FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Sanibel Causeway Bridge "C" Repairs Complete Normal traffic operations to resume on Tuesday, August 8th at 6 a.m. Fort Myers, FL, August 7, 2006 – Repairs to pilings on Bridge "C" of the Sanibel Causeway are complete and the Causeway will resume normal operations Tuesday, August 8th at 6 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the contractor constructed steel jackets around the two fractured pilings on the bridge and today they pumped concrete into the steel forms. The concrete must cure over night. At 6 a.m. overweight trucks and vehicles with the required load permits will be allowed to resume travel across the Causeway.
