Independence Day -Garbage Collection Schedule
Jun 27, 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Brigitte Kantor, Lee County Solid Waste Department INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY - GARBAGE COLLECTION SCHEDULE CHANGE FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 27, 2006) – Please be advised that all unincorporated areas of Lee County as well as Bonita Springs, and the Town of Fort Myers Beach have garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections delayed for one day starting Tuesday, July 4th, 2006 for the remainder of the week in observance of Independence Day. If the regular scheduled garbage pick up day is Tuesday then it will be Wednesday, Wednesday's pick up will be on Thursday, Thursday's on Friday, and Friday's on Saturday. This schedule is only in effect from July 4th to July 8th, 2006. Regular scheduled collections will resume on July 9, 2006. Please remember to recycle your glass bottles and aluminum beverage containers as well as the cardboard beverage carrying boxes.
