Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau Promotes Pigott to Deputy Director
LEE COUNTY, FL – Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) has announced the promotion of Beach & Shoreline Program Manager, Tamara Pigott, to deputy director of the VCB.
As part of a reorganization at the VCB, this new position was created to facilitate and manage programs within the bureau. In addition to her responsibilities with beach and shoreline projects, Pigott will oversee visitor services and administration.
Overseeing the communications, sales and advertising sectors of the VCB is the responsibility of Deputy Director Mark Crabb, FCDME. He is involved in the creation, implementation and supervision of tourism promotions, advertising and hospitality services for both the domestic and international markets.
As Beach & Shoreline Program manager, Pigott's primary duties include managing funds for improvement projects along the more than 50 miles of beaches and 1,000 miles of inland shorelines that attract millions of visitors to southwest Florida. While managing the usage of the funds by government and community organizations, she monitors capital projects, budget, planning and construction and other government and community agencies in the process.
A graduate of Florida State University, Pigott holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and political science and a master of science degree in political science. Her experience includes work as a research analyst and vice-president of local research companies, and fiscal officer with the Lee County Library System. Pigott and her family live in Fort Myers.
