This is a day when neighborhood residents come together to clean up their own neighborhoods. T-shirts, soda, water, food, and self-satisfaction are the reward for residents who participate this Saturday April 22nd. Students will visualize a correct environmental action and transfer that mental picture into a work of art. Possible ways of expanding on this theme could include: litter prevention, clean-up campaigns, beautification efforts such as landscaping and tree planting, protecting the environment, and recycling. Thirteen winners, one from each grade 1 through 12 and a cover winner will have their artwork and portrait photo featured in a full-color 2007 calendar to be released in the Fall of 2006. |
