LEE TV PROGRAM CELEBRATES 100th ANNIVERSARY OF TERRY PARK

Fort Myers, Fl. (April 5, 2006) – Inside Lee County takes a look back at the history of Terry Park, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The 20-minute program is hosted by Booch DeMarchi, who reminisces with county employees and others who have had long associations with Terry Park.

Terry Park is generally known for its ties to Major League Baseball spring training, but was also used for many other community events.  It was home to the Southwest Florida Fair for nearly 60 years.  Many high school sporting events were held there over the years, along with numerous civic events.

Lee County Parks and Recreation is joining with the City of Ft. Myers, the Lee County School District, and more than 20 other local organizations to put on a three-day celebration, held at Terry Park, Friday, April 28 thru Sunday, April 30th.

For more information and a listing of the weekend's events, go the Lee County Parks & Recreation website at: www.leeparks.org.

Inside Lee County airs on Mondays at 8:00 pm on ComCast Cable, channel 11 and Time Warner Cable, channel 16.  Lee TV is the county's 24-hour government access channel that provides residents with information about Lee County Government as well as public safety and state-related news.  A broadcast schedule can be viewed at the county's website:
