EMS Announces New Deputy Chief of Training & Public Information Officer

(March 31, 2006) - Lee County Emergency Medical Services announced the promotion of Capt. Scott Tuttle to Deputy Chief of Training and the appointment of Ashley Younger to EMS Public Information Officer. Tuttle, a 20-year veteran with Lee County EMS, graduated from Edison College with his EMT certificate in 1985 and moved his way up the ranks of EMS as an EMT, Paramedic, Lieutenant, and most recently, Captain. Tuttle holds a Bachelors of Science from International College in Management and is a master's candidate, pursuing a Masters of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resources. As the Deputy Chief of Training, Tuttle will oversee all the New Hire Orientation, New Hire Training, Continuing Education and Quality Improvement. A native Fort Myers resident for 22 years, Younger is excited to be able to come back and give back to her community. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Sports and Fitness, concentrating in Event Management from the University of Central Florida and also received her EMT certificate from Edison College in 2001. Younger most recently served as an executive assistant for the City of Palms Basketball Classic. In the capacity as Public Information Officer for EMS, Younger will coordinate community events, public CPR and First Aid courses, school programs, student outreach programs, and media releases. Tuttle replaces former Deputy Chief of Training Michael Pcolar, who serves as the Training Chief for Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue. Younger fills a vacancy left with the promotion of Paul Filla to Public Safety Information Manager.
