PUBLIC HEARINGS
Lehigh Acres Planning Community - A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 5:05pm in the Commission Chambers to consider adoption of an emergency ordinance establishing a moratorium on the rezoning of property from non-residential zoning district to a residential zoning district, and a moratorium on the submittal and processing of privately initiated comprehensive plan amendments for property within the Lehigh Acres Planning Community.  Click here to view the bluesheet.

Fire Impact Fee Study and Blasting - Reminder that the second public hearing for the adoption of the Fire/EMS impact fees and the Blasting Ordinance will be held Tuesday, April 11th at 5:05pm in the Commission Chambers.  Copies of the draft Fire and EMS impact fee study are available for review by clicking here.     Copies of the Blasting Ordinance are available by clicking here.

LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REVISIONS FOR DUPLEXES
Land Development Code regulations are now being developed to require landscaping and paved driveways for duplexes.  The regulations will be reviewed by the County Commission in approximately two months.  For additional information, please contact Nettie Richardson at 479-8789 or by e-mail at

DON'T LET YOUR PERMITS EXPIRE!!
A building permit expires if there is no inspection activity for six months. The permit will expire six months after the last passed inspection.  If your permit expires, you may be subject to new codes and additional fees.

A permit may be extended for good cause prior to the permit expiring. An extension request should be made in writing 30 days prior to the permit expiration date. A permit that has expired and must be reactivated may be subject to any code changes and impact fees that have been implemented since the original permit issuance.

Reminder that the following development order and limited review development order applications have been revised to include amendments adopted thru Ordinance 05-29:
• Development Order Application
• Development Order Exhibit V-G
• Development Order Exhibit V-G - Estero
• Development Order Amendments
• Development Order Minor Changes
• Limited Development Order Application
• Limited Development Order Amendments

In addition, please be advised that the public hearing application for the Town of Fort Myers Beach (along with Supplements D & E) have been updated to now require 13 copies at submittal so that a copy can be given to the Fort Myers Beach attorney.

Copies of all applications are available on our webpage or by clicking here.  Old  applications will continue to be accepted thru the end of April.  Word versions of the Lee County applications should be available toward the end of next week.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Bob Rentz who received "The Best Exemplary Engineer in Government" Engineer of the Year award from the Calusa Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society for 2005-2006.  The award is given for best exemplifying the ideal image of the government professional engineer and for outstanding contributions to the advancement of engineers in government.  Congratulations, Bob!!

Congratulations also go out to Bob Beluschak who will receive his 30-year Length of Service Award in April, along with Cookie Shepard who will receive her 25-year service award, Susan Hollingsworth and Rick Roberts who will receive their 20-year service award, and Janet Miller and Matt Noble who will receive their 15-year awards. Congratulations to everyone!
