County Seeking Applications for Gasparilla Island MSTU
Mar 20, 2006 COMMISSIONER BOB JANES, DISTRICT #1 PRESS RELEASE/COMMENTARY ARTICLE BY COMMISSIONER BOB JANES FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE COUNTY SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR GASPARILLA ISLAND MSTU FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 20, 2006) – Lee County is seeking applications to the Gasparilla Island Municipal Service Taxing Unit advisory committee. The committee will have five members appointed by the District #1 County Commissioner to work with County staff and consultants on street lighting and invasive exotic animal species control issues. The committee, which was created by the amended ordinance on March 14, 2006, will advise the Board of Lee County Commissioners on street lighting and invasive exotic animal species control within the boundaries of the M.S.T.U. The Gasparilla Island M.S.T.U. boundaries are: Gasparilla Island, including Boca Grand Isles, Gasparilla Golf Course Island, Three Sisters Island, Hoagan's Key and Loomis Island, falling within Lee County. The meetings will be held in public and your input will assist the Committee in establishing the level of service you wish to present to the Board of County Commissioners during the annual budget process.
