Relief Funds for Those Unable to Pay Their Electric Bill

As the cost of utilities continues to rise, more and more residents are finding themselves in need of assistance. The Lee County's Department of Human Services (Fort Myers, Florida) is currently administering the Care To Share Program which is sponsored by Florida Power & Light and is designed to provide emergency assistance funds to customers who are in a crisis situation and unable to pay their electric bill. To be eligible for Care To Share Program funds, FPL customers must

• reside in the FPL service area
• be in imminent danger of having electric service disconnected
• have electric service already disconnected
• have experienced a personal or family crisis
• other criteria applies (call, stop by, or visit us on the web)

Please bring your original utility bill, social security cards for all household members, proof of all household income and any documentation supporting their personal or family crisis.
