PugFest II to Raise Funds for Reading Festival & Animal Care Trust Fund
Jan 11, 2006 PRESS RELEASE MEDIA CONTACT: Ria Brown, Public Information Specialist Karen Sloan, Library Development Specialist FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lee County PugFest II to Raise Funds for Reading Festival Fort Myers, Florida, (January 11, 2006) Lee County PugFest II, a Sanctioned Event of the Edison Festival of Light, Inc., will be held Sunday, February 5th from noon until 4:00 pm at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers. The Fest will include the crowning of the King & Queen of Pugasonia, a pug fashion show, pet contests, pet microchipping, and a vendor marketplace featuring pet products, inventions, books, pet portraits and a Chinese Auction. All dog breeds are invited to attend and participate in the event contests and activities. All proceeds from Lee County PugFest II will benefit the Lee County Reading Festival and the Lee County Animal Care Trust Fund. The Lee County Reading Festival, taking place on March 18th, is an annual event to encourage reading and use of the library's resources. The Animal Care Trust Fund provides money for a variety of needs including affordable spay/neuter surgery for disadvantaged pet owners, care of neglected or abused animals, and disaster preparedness for pets.
