Baseball Fantasy Camp to be Held in Fort Myers
Jan 10, 2006 For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 Fort Myers based sports event promoter "Diamond Dreams" will host their annual baseball fantasy camp at Historic Terry Park from January 11-15, 2006. This five-day program will feature not only Hall of Fame baseball players, but baseball entertainment as well. Leading off will be Kerry Jo Nakagawa, noted baseball historian, author and film producer. Nakagawa has been involved with projects such as the Nisei Baseball Research Project, Diamonds in the Rough (a baseball exhibit that targets Japanese Americans in baseball and was displayed at the National Museum in 2000), as well as acted as a consultant to the Baseball Hall of Fame tour entitled Baseball In America. Additional entertainment will include national country music recording artist Crystal Little, who will perform on Saturday, January 14, at 12:15 PM in Terry Park Stadium. This year's fantasy camp will feature former players Jack Billingham, Bill Campbell, George Foster, Darrel Evans and Jon Warden. Hall of Famers Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson are also scheduled to attend. Pete Rose is also tentatively scheduled to attend as a special guest. The public is invited to watch the games on Thursday, January 12 and Saturday, January 14. Admission to the games will be $2.00 per person. Gates open at 6:00 PM and games will begin at 7:00 PM. Please note that there are no scheduled plans for signing autographs and the public will not have access to the pros. Event times and athletes are subject to change without notice.
