Lee County Animal Services Mobile Unit Arrives
Dec 19, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MEDIA CONTACT: Scott Trebatoski, Director Lee County Animal Services Mobile Unit Arrives Fort Myers, Florida, 12/19/05-Lee County Animal Services has received its new Mobile Sterilization and Adoption Unit. It will be on display in front of the Old Courthouse on Tuesday, December 20th before and after the meeting of the Board of County Commissioners (9:30 a.m.). Staff will be available for tours and to answer questions. This mobile unit will begin operation in early 2006 providing low-cost and free sterilizations to pet owners who are on public assistance or have incomes that qualify for this program. The program is one of many the County has created to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem in an effort to reduce the number of animals entering the shelters of Lee County and to reduce the need for euthanasia in our community.
