Lee County PugFest II Call for Entries Deadline January 20th
Dec 6, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ria Brown, Public Information Specialist Karen Sloan, Library Development Specialist Lee County PugFest II Call for Entries Deadline January 20th Fort Myers, Florida, (December 16, 2005) Lee County PugFest II, a Sanctioned Event of the Edison Festival of Light, Inc., will be held Sunday, February 5th from noon until 4:00 pm at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers. The Fest will include the crowning of the King & Queen of Pugasonia, a pug fashion show, pet contests for all dog breeds, pet microchipping, and a vendor marketplace featuring pet products, inventions, books, pet portraits and a Chinese Auction. Nominations are being accepted through January 20, 2006 from pug owners who would like their pets to be on the Pugasonia Court. Pugs chosen to be on the court will participate in a parade at the PugFest and preside over the event festivities. From the pugs chosen for the court, a King and Queen of Pugasonia will be crowned. All proceeds from Lee County PugFest II will benefit the Lee County Reading Festival and the Lee County Animal Care Trust Fund. The Lee County Reading Festival, taking place on March 18th, is an annual event to encourage reading and use of the library's resources. The Animal Care Trust Fund provides money for a variety of needs including affordable spay/neuter surgery for disadvantaged pet owners, care of neglected or abused animals, and disaster preparedness for pets. |
