Please consider the following for a news release, including the attached letter from the National Recreation and Parks Association:

Lee County Parks and Recreation is recognized by the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) for their third consecutive year as a Hearts 'N Parks Magnet Center.  This designation demonstrates Lee County's commitment to encouraging, promoting, and training our communities regarding the benefits of healthy habits.

The Hearts 'N Parks philosophy is exhibited in all aspects of Lee County Parks and Recreation programming.  It is an integral part of the summer camps and Club Rec programs teaching kids how to choose healthy foods, keeping active, and making healthy life choices.  The Department promotes and encourages the use of public parks for people to stay active and have fun.   "Step up to Health *. It Starts in Parks."
