Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau holds family, military, class, and social reunion planning workshop
LEE COUNTY, FL (October 2005) With increased popularity in social reunions, the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) is hosting a reunion planning workshop, Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. 2 p.m., at the Clarion Hotel, 12635 S. Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers.
A great way to relive the past and re-establish relationships, reunions of all kinds family, military, class, and social is growing in appeal. By bringing people with shared experiences and unique bonds together, even children can be introduced to their unique heritage and history, thereby enlightening future generations and teaching valuable lessons.
The key to a successful reunion is planning. This workshop will cover such fundamental steps as choosing the date, budgeting, site selection/accommodations, activities/entertainment, developing the invitation list, effective communications and genealogy organization.
The featured speaker for the event is Sylvia Ford-George. Sylvia is associated with the Family Reunion Institute at Temple University as a member of the advisory board since 1998.
VCB staff will present information on the free services it makes available to reunion organizers. In addition, attendees can meet a variety of local representatives from hotels, attractions, and shopping businesses that can help make reunion planning even easier.
