LEE COUNTY TO HOST STATEWIDE HUMAN SERVICES CONFERENCE

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 29, 2005) - The Lee County Department of Human Services is hosting the 2005 Conference of the Florida Association of County Social Services Executives (FACSSE) this September 28-30 at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa on Fort Myers Beach.  Front-line social services staff from all over the State will be attending to hone their skills in workshops. Hopefully, they return home with information that will assist them to facilitate the efficient delivery of human services.

Two nationally known speakers and authors, Dr. Mardy Grothe and Lynn Donohue, will be presenting the opening and closing sessions.  Dr. Grothe is an engaging motivational speaker who gives scores of seminars annually to professional and trade associations.  Lynn Donohue is a millionaire entrepreneur who started her own company after beginning her career as a brick layer.  She founded the non-profit Brick By Brick foundation to give back to her community by assisting teens and adults with personal and career choices.   Several workshops will be available to bring attendees up-to-date on issues such as human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, ESS Modernization, HIPAA, addictions, mental illnesses, domestic violence, and a variety of other subjects.

CEU's are available at this conference.  6 contact hours provided to professionals licensed under Florida Chapter 491 by the Division of Social Work, Florida Gulf Coast University, CE provider #50-4944, Exp. 03/07.  Also available for Certified Addiction Professionals.  CEU's through the Florida Certification Board No. FCB 5002 SS expires 12/31/2005.  Fee for CEU's - $10.00 per person.  Checks payable to FGCU at the conference.
