Commissioner Janes Recipient of Statewide Human Services Award
Jun 27, 2005 COMMISSIONER BOB JANES, DISTRICT #1 PRESS RELEASE/COMMENTARY ARTICLE --- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 27, 2005) - Lee County Commissioner Bob Janes has been awarded the "2005 Human Services Award" from the Florida Association of County Social Services Executives (FACSSE). The mission of the FACSSE is to educate and advocate for efficient and effective county health and human services programs. Janes was selected in recognition of his tireless and invaluable contributions at the Local, State and National levels for advocating on behalf of our most vulnerable citizens. Janes, who is serving his second term on the Lee County Board of County Commissioners, is the past chairman of the Florida Association of Counties' Health and Human Services Committee. In 2003, he was awarded the FAC Presidential Advocacy Award and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He also serves as chairman of the National Association of Counties' Health Steering Committee, as well as the Medicaid Working Group, NACCHO Government Public Health Task Force and Elected Official Task Force, NACo Platform Committee, NACo Membership Committee and Homeland Security Task Force. |
