The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel Attractions win Acclaim in ´Best of Florida Awards'
LEE COUNTY, FL (FEBRUARY 2005) The best in fishing, shelling, bird watching and miniature golf can be found at The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel according to more than 600,000 readers of Florida Monthly magazine who cast ballots in the magazine's ´2004 Best of Florida Awards'.
The publication's readers voted in more than 100 categories for their ninth annual poll, announced in the September 2004 issue and also featured on Florida Monthly's Web site www.floridamagazine.com for the entire year. The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel received the ´Best of Florida' honors in the following divisions:
Best Nature Center (second-place): Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium Fort Myers) and Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary (Bonita Springs) (third-place) Best Fishing Spot (second-place): Boca Grande Best Shelling Location: Sanibel Island (first-place) Best Place to Watch Birds (second-place): J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge (Sanibel Island) Best Mini-Golf (second-place): Jungle Golf (Fort Myers Beach)
