HSMAI Recognizes Ft. Myers & Sanibel at Marketing Awards
Jan 27, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACTS: Nancy Hamilton, Lee Rose, Jessica Doyle HSMAI recognizes The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel LEE COUNTY, FL Inventive destination marketing has earned southwest Florida's Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) honors from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Advertising Competition presented Jan. 24 in New York City. The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel received a Gold Award for the Advertising Campaign in the Print category. The "What's Right with the World" campaign garnered the industries accolades for the theme of the advertisements. The images along with the verbiage, branded the destination as simplistic and serene, while including scenes that pulled the audience into the relaxed southwest Florida lifestyle. In addition to the Gold Award, the VCB was presented with 16 Silver Awards, in different categories, some included the Web site, Visitor Guide, Newspaper and Magazine print ads, TV, the Tradewinds newsletter and the E-mail newsletter, Paradise.Calm. The VCB's Rack brochure received the Bronze Award. This annual event is the largest and most prestigious travel initiative of its kind worldwide. It recognizes the very best in all segments of the hospitality industry, including destinations, hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, and more. The 2004 competition attracted more than 1,350 entries from 45 countries and destinations around the world.
