LEE TV TO AIR VIDEO WITH TIPS ON GROWING ORCHIDS
Fort Myers, Fl. (August 29, 2008) – Lee TV, Lee County's Government Access channel, has added a new program that gives local residents information about what they can do to grow one of the state's most beautiful flowers, the orchid.
The program, "Growing Orchids: Easier Than You Think", was produced by the University of Florida's Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). Two experts, Dr. Tom Sheehan and Dr. Bud Black of the University of Florida help dispel the myth that orchids are difficult to grow. They demonstrate and discuss a number of tips and techniques that will help homeowners grow this unique and beautiful species.
Some of tips covered: selecting the appropriate containers, planting mediums, and fertilizers; watering requirements, environmental conditions, and pests and diseases.
The video was shot on location at the American Orchid Society Visitors Center & Botanical Gardens in Delray Beach, Florida.
