ALISON HAGERUP BEACH ACCESS RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY 

On Thursday, September 11, 2008, 1 PM,  the Lee County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly named Alison Hagerup Beach Access located at the northern terminus of Captiva Drive on Captiva Island.  It is located next to the South Seas Island Resort.  Lee County Commissioner, Bob Janes, will serve as master of ceremonies.  He will be joined by numerous friends of Alison from the Captiva Erosion and Prevention District and the Florida Shore and Beach Prevention Association. 

Alison died in June of 2008 and this event will honor her efforts in making Captiva a better place to live, work and raise a family. 

The ceremony is open to the public and area citizens are encouraged to attend the festivities.
