Interstate 75 to Close Corkscrew/Alico Rd on July 16, 2008

INTERSTATE 75 TO CLOSE BRIEFLY BETWEEN CORKSCREW ROAD AND ALICO ROAD THE MORNING OF JULY 16, 2008 TO MOVE A CRANE  

FORT MYERS, FL (July 1, 2008) –  As part of its on-going project to construct the Estero Parkway Extension over Interstate 75,  Lee County's contractor ZEP Construction will be moving a crane across Interstate 75 between Corkscrew Road and Alico Road beginning at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning July 16, 2008.  This action will require the closure of the interstate.  The closure will be done in stages, first the northbound lanes of the interstate and then the southbound lanes, with the assistance of law enforcement using a rolling roadblock.  The entire process should be completed within one hour.  

MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID THIS SECTION OF ROADWAY AND USE ALTERNATE ROUTES SUCH AS THREE OAKS PARKWAY, BEN HILLGRIFFIN PARKWAY/TREELINE AVENUE, OR US 41 IF POSSIBLE.
