Jim Moore Named Interim Executive Director, Lee County Economic Development Office 

Fort Myers, Fla. (June 27, 2008) – Lee County Manager Don Stilwell announced today that local businessman Jim Moore – who for six years was a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta - Miami Branch – has been named Interim Executive Director of the Lee County Economic Development Office.  He will begin his position in August and will be replacing the current Executive Director, Regina Smith, who has opted to take the county buyout.  The county is currently recruiting for the full-time position. 

Moore brings to his position a wealth of expertise in a successful career that has spanned the spectrum of finance, real estate development, investment, consulting and overall business management experience.   

For 16 years he was president and CEO of Gulf Utility Company.  He has served as vice president of finance for a Fortune 500 company and currently is a director on several boards including Investor's Security Trust and Edison Insurance Company.  He also is a founder, director and chairman of Florida Gulf Bank.     

As the Interim Director of the Economic Development Office, Moore will be charged with carrying forward the strategic vision of the Economic Development Office.  This will include the continuation of diversifying Lee County's economic base by attracting new high-wage/high growth industries to the area, as well as providing assistance to existing businesses with expansion plans.
