June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month Lee County Animal Services Offers 2 Purr 1 Adoption Special

Fort Myers, Florida, 5/23/08-Lee County Animal Services will join the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to send hundreds of cats packing this kitten season.  It only takes a short trip to the shelter to find a lifelong companion.  To encourage as many cat adoptions as possible, Animal Services is offering two cats for one $50 adoption fee or half-price for one cat or kitten.

The adoption fee, a $500 value, includes:

Spay/neuter surgery
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Rabies vaccination and county license
10-day pet health guarantee
Microchip ID
Feline Leukemia and Aids test
Flea treatment
Worming
Collar
Training DVD
Cat toy (while supplies last)

Animal Services takes in more than 8,000 cats and kittens annually and more than 800 per month during kitten season which runs from May to November.  The only way to reduce the births and ultimate deaths of nearly 7,000 cats each year in Lee County is for cat owners to keep their cats from straying and to spay and neuter their pets.

For more information about adoption call 239-533-7387 (LEE-PETS); for low-cost spay/neuter programs select option #6.  Photos and information about pets are also available online at www.LeeLostPets.com.
