Days and Hours of Operation Lee County Household Chemical Waste Drop Off Facility 6441 Topaz Court

 
FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 13, 2008) –   A recent article erroneously published six days a week of operation for Lee County's permanent Household Chemical Waste Drop Off  Facility on 6441 Topaz Court in Fort Myers.  It should have read:

The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and every first Saturday of the month from 8 am to 12 Noon.   

The facility is closed on County observed holidays.  Visit www.leegov.com/solidwaste  or call 533-8000 for up to date information on operating days and hours. 

Since the opening of the Topaz facility, the Division has encountered several incidents of household chemical materials at the front door left by residents that did not know or could not meet the hours of operation.  For obvious safety reasons we strongly discourage this practice. 

Again, opening hours at 6441 Topaz Court are from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and from 8 am -12 Noon the first Saturday of each month.
