Lee County Triage Center/Low Demand Shelter Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Friday, May 30, 2008, 10 AM, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners and a large number of local social services agencies will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Triage Center/Low Demand Shelter in east Ft Myers.
The ceremony will be at The Lee Mental Health Center, Building "L" at 2789 Ortiz Avenue ( across the street from Eastwood Golf Course. ) Lee County Commissioner, Bob Janes, will serve as master of ceremonies. He will be joined by numerous officials from the Lee Mental Health Center, Salvation Army, Lee Memorial Health System, Southwest Florida Addiction Services, United Way and several law enforcement agencies.
The Lee County Board of County Commissioners, who submitted an application in conjunction with the project partners, was selected to receive a three year grant in the amount of $1 million dollars to operate the Triage Center/Low Demand Shelter. In addition to the grant funding, the project partners are contributing resources valued at $750,000 annually to meet the grant match requirement and operate the program.
The ceremony is open to the public and area citizens are encouraged to attend the festivities.
