Buckingham Rd Closed Until Noon Between Carl Ave & Sunset Rd
May 7, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Clay Simmons, Lee County DOT, 694-3334 BUCKINGHAM ROAD CLOSED UNTIL NOON TOMORROW BETWEEN CARL AVENUE AND SUNSET ROAD FORT MYERS, FL (May 7, 2008) – A semi truck has overturned on Buckingham Road, spilling diesel fuel that has damaged the roadway pavement. Effectively immediately, the section of Buckingham Road between Carl Avenue and Sunset Road is closed to all but local traffic to allow repairs. The road will remain closed overnight so that the pavement can be milled and resurfaced, and should re-open by noon on Thursday, May 8th. MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID THIS SECTION OF ROADWAY AND USE ALTERNATE ROUTES SUCH AS ABRAMS BLVD/CENTENNIAL BLVD/GUNNERY ROAD, LEE BOULEVARD, OR NEAL ROAD/ORANGE RIVER BOULEVARD IF POSSIBLE. |
