CALOOSAHATCHEE  CREEKS  PRESERVE RIBBON  CUTTING  CEREMONY 

On Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 2 PM, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve.  The park is located at 10131 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.  

Lee County Commissioner, Tammy Hall, will serve as master of ceremonies.  She will be joined by numerous officials from the Florida Communities Trust, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, South Florida Water Management District, Lee County Conservation Lands Acquisition and Stewardship Advisory Committee, Audubon of Southwest Florida and the residents of the Bayshore community. 

The Preserve's construction project is highly significant as this is the first time the Lee County Board of County Commissioners have constructed recreational facilities on a Conservation 20/20 Program property.  The $ 2.1 million project will includes 2 restroom facilities, 1 canoe launch, auto and bus parking, picnic shelters and tables, 2700 feet of accessible trails, 1050 feet of accessible boardwalk, 2500 feet of standard boardwalk and three observation decks.   

The ceremony is open to the public and area citizens are encouraged to attend the festivities.
