PART OF TEN MILE LINEAR PARK TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

Fort Myers, FL, April 3, 2008 - The northern section of Ten Mile Canal Linear Park in Fort Myers will be closed temporarily from Monday, April 14, through Friday, April 18, for construction.

The northern segment – referred to as Phase 1 – runs from Daniels Parkway south to the trail bridge. The 2,700 feet of trail will be widened, adding six feet of asphalt trail abutting the canal side of the existing concrete trail. This will provide walkers and bicyclists with a 12-foot multi-purpose trail.

During the temporary closing, park visitors are encouraged to use the southern portion of Phase 1 from Six Mile Cypress Parkway to the pedestrian bridge and also use the Phase 2 of the park, from Daniels Parkway to Crystal Drive.
