COUNTY COMMISSION ELECTS HALL AS 2006 CHAIRWOMAN

FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 15, 2005) - The Board of Lee County Commissioners today voted unanimously to designate Commissioner Tammy Hall as its chairwoman for the coming year.  Commissioner Bob Janes was designated as vice chairman.  Hall replaces Commissioner Doug St.
Cerny.

On the third Tuesday of each November the Board elects a new chairman.
The chairman runs the weekly commission meetings, appoints other commissioners to serve as liaisons to other boards and organizations, and signs documents on behalf of the entire Board of County Commissioners, such as resolutions, agreements and financial documents.

The vice chairman typically becomes the chairman the next year, and the chairmanship rotates among the five board members.

Commissioner Hall was elected to the Board of Lee County Commissioners in 2004 and served as the Board's vice chairman this year.  Her district includes North Fort Myers, and the central and northern portions of Cape Coral.  She served on the Fort Myers City Council from 2000 to 2004.
