TEMPORARY PARK CLOSING: HICKEY'S CREEK MITIGATION PARK

FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 17, 2005) - The main entrance to Hickey's Creek Mitigation Park located at 17980 State Road 80 (Palm Beach Blvd.) will remain closed until further notice, due to construction by FDOT at its main entrance. Paddlecraft access is still available via Hickey's Creek.

Access through the main entrance gate has become difficult due to heavy equipment in the area. In addition, the majority of the park's 5 miles of hiking trails are under water, due to seasonal conditions.

Lee County Parks & Recreation will announce when the Park entrance is able to be safely opened for public access.
