County Workshop Tuesday to Discuss Water Issues

COUNTY WORKSHOP TUESDAY TO DISCUSS WATER ISSUES

FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 12, 2005) - The Board of Lee County Commissioners will hold a joint workshop Tuesday (Aug. 16) with state and federal agencies to discuss common water issues.

The two other entities participating are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District.

The workshop will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Lee County Commission Chambers, second floor of the Old County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, in downtown Fort Myers.

There will be no public input, however interested residents are encouraged to attend to learn about and become involved in local water issues.

Topics to be discussed include issues relating to Federal and State Everglades Restoration, Basin/Lake (Okeechobee) Management, and Various Water Quality Initiatives.
