Lee County Animal Services Names New Field Operations Manager

 

Fort Myers, Florida, 7/18/05-Captain Lance Raiche has been named Field Operations Manager for Lee County Animal Services the department announced July 18th.  Raiche has been lead cruelty investigator for the county since 1995 and has over 17 years experience as an officer in Lee County.

 

In addition to certification by the Florida Animal Control Association, Raiche is certified in all levels of cruelty investigation and has handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases involving cruelty/neglect and dangerous dogs.  As interim manager, he worked diligently to increase street patrols and extend hours that have improved protection, service to the community, and public education.

 

As Field Operations Manager, Raiche will serve as Chief Animal Control Officer and supervisor of the department's animal control function.  He will manage daily field operations, enforcement of local ordinances and state statutes, investigations, and emergency procedures.  He will also oversee the county's rabies and bite case management program in conjunction with the Health Department.

 

Lee County Animal Services provides animal control services throughout Lee County and operates an animal shelter to house stray and abandoned domestic animals.  It also administers low-cost spay/neuter programs, educational initiatives, and rabies and bite case control programs.  The shelter is located off Six Mile Cypress Parkway next to the Lee County Sheriff's Dept.  For more information call 432-2083 or visit the website at www.LeeLostPets.com
