County Sponsoring Kids Heart Healthy Expo July 1

(June 27, 2005) - Lee County Parks & Recreation is hosting a Fun-Fit Festival at Veterans Park this Friday (July 1) to promote heart healthy lifestyles for kids. The FREE Hearts N Parks event will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Veterans Park, 55 Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres. There will be informational booths and fun activities for children ages six to 13. Groups should have at least one counselor for each 15 kids. To RSVP or for more information call 461-7447. There also is a skating event afterward at Raymond Rollerland in east Fort Myers. Hearts N Parks is a Lee County Parks and Recreation program that focuses on choosing heart-healthy foods and increasing physical activity to reduce obesity and risk of heart disease. |
