Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau Announces Northeast Sales Director 

            LEE COUNTY, FL (February 2005)  With plans to more aggressively promote the Fort Myers & Sanibel Island area in southwest Florida, to the meetings and conventions market, the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) welcomes a new staff member: Elizabeth Dane as northeast sales director.

            Dane will be based in the new Lee County VCB office in Washington, D.C. to further the destination's presence in the northeast market. In particular she will solicit national, association and corporate groups.  Dane's responsibilities will include prospecting, participating in sales promotions and trade shows and conducting site inspections to achieve individual and team sales goals.  In addition to sales, Dane will be a public relations liaison in the northeast to generate media coverage for The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel.

            Dane brings more than 25 years of hotel and tourism industry experience and has held a variety of sales and convention services positions.  Dane previously worked as senior national sales manager for Turtle Bay Resort with a concentration on the Washington, D.C. and northeast areas.  She has also worked for Marriott, Hilton, Omni and Adams Mark Hotels, as well as the Washington, D.C. Convention & Visitors Bureau. 

            Dane is an active member of professional hospitality organizations including American Society of Association Executives, Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, and is the current president of PROST  Executive Women in Travel, Washington, D.C. Chapter.  She graduated from Beloit College with a degree in performing arts.
