Overview

New Installs is for projects that only require a water meter which is two inches (2") or smaller with no system enhancements (i.e., fire hydrant, fire line, three inch (3") or larger meters, main extensions, etc.).  If your project requires system enhancements, please see "LCU Developer Projects".

If there is an existing meter, please contact Customer Service at (239)533-8845 to establish your account and have the meter turned on.

Please Note:

  1. New meter installs that require a tap will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to install from the date of the meter install request and all associated fees have been paid. 
  2. New meter drop-in installs (i.e. with existing meter box) will take approximately 5 to 7 business days to install from the date of the meter install request and all associated fees have been paid.

For Residential: Single-Family and/or Multi-Family

In order to receive a new residential meter installation, you will need the following:

  1. Complete a New Residential Installation Application
  2. Photo Identification
  • Residential Accounts:  Copy of driver's license or other form of government-issued identification.  (If you are faxing your application packet, please enlarge and lighten the driver's license.)
  • Commercial Accounts:  Proof of FEIN (W-9 or letter from the IRS) AND a copy of the driver's license or other form of government-issued identification of the signor on the application.  (if you are faxing your application packet, please enlarge and lighten the driver's license.)

     3.  Pay Deposit and Connection Fees.

Applications can be:

  • Faxed to (239)485-8399

  • E-mailed to LCUNewInstalls@leegov.com

  • Mailed to LCU, 1500 Monroe St., Fort Myers,  FL  33901

  • Processed in person at LCU's Monroe Street Office.


For Commercial

Prior to signing up for service, please contact our office to confirm service availability at (239)533-8160.

To establish a new commercial account with Lee County Utilities, you will need the following:

  1. Complete a New Commercial Construction Application
  2. Proof of FEIN (W-9 or letter from the IRS) AND a copy of the driver's license or other form of government-issued identification of the signor on the application.  (if you are faxing your application packet, please enlarge and lighten the driver's license.)
  3. Pay Deposit and Connection Fees.

Application Packets can be:
