Effective November 7, 2025, the Rent/Mortgage & Water Assistance Program will begin accepting applications. The application portal will open at 12:00 PM (noon) Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and will close once the daily application limit has been reached.
Please be advised that Lee County Human & Veteran Services will be closed from Thursday, November 27 through Friday, November 28, 2025, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
During this time, the application portal for assistance will also be temporarily disabled and unavailable for use. Normal operations will resume on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Apply for assistance with past due rent, mortgage, move-in costs or water.
You may be eligible for assistance with past-due rent, mortgage, move-in costs or water bills if you have experienced an unexpected financial crisis.
Examples of qualifying circumstances include:
- Temporary loss of income due to situations such as domestic violence, job loss, reduced work hours, or a medical emergency.
- Unexpected expenses such as funeral costs, medical or dental bills, or emergency home repairs.
Applicants must meet basic eligibility criteria:
- Residency: 12+ weeks in Lee County, verified by two documents (e.g., ID, lease, utility bill, pay stub).
- Financial Crisis: Due to job loss (not misconduct), income loss, or unexpected expense.
- Income: Between 200%–250% of FPL; must show ability to cover future expenses.
- Citizenship: U.S. citizen or legal resident.
- Age: 18+ or legally emancipated/married minors.
