Demolition Permit Requirements

​​​​​Residential Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Three site plans showing property dimensions, all structures on property and highlighting building(s) to be demolished
  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition OR a recorded Notice of Commencement​, if job value is over $2,500
  4. Letter from Lee County Utilities (if services provided by Lee County Utilities)
The permit will be issued over the counter. 

 
Fees: $150 Structural Removal; Minimum $2 for Administration (or 1.5% of permit fee) and minimum $2 for Radon (or 1% of the permit fee)

 

Residential Interior Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Three floor plans showing as is and highlighting the area to be demolished
  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition OR a recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2,500
 **If the walls to be demolished are non-load bearing walls, then the permit will be issued over the counter and you will only pay permit, administration and radon fees.  If permit is required to go to plan review for demolition of load bearing walls, then a plan review fee will be due at application submittal and the other fees will be due at issuance. 

 
Fees: $50 Plan Review; $150 Structural Removal; Minimum $2 for Administration (or 1.5% of permit fee) and minimum $2 for Radon (or 1% of the permit fee)

 

Commercial Building Demolition Requirements

  1. Completed Application
  2. Three site plans showing property dimensions, all structures on property and highlighting building(s) to be demolished
  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition OR a recorded Notice of Commencement, if job value is over $2,500​
  4. Asbestos Affidavit
  5. Letter from Lee County Utilities (if services provided by Lee County Utilities)

Commercial Interior Demolition Requirements

  3. A notarized letter from property owner, giving permission to contractor for demolition OR a recorded Notice of Commencement​, if job value is over $2,500
  4. Asbestos Affidavit
​**If the walls to be demolished are non-load bearing walls (and not firewalls), and the existing use is staying the same, then a permit may be issued over the counter and only a permit fee will apply.  However, if the use is changing or the work affects other trades or structural components, the application may require a plan review. The plan review fee will be due at application submittal and a permit fee will be due at permit issuance. ​

 
Fees: $50-$200 Plan Review; $150 Structural Removal; Minimum $2 for Administration (or 1.5% of permit fee) and  minimum $2 for Radon (or 1% of the permit fee)
