This preserve is located in east Lee County, between the Lee County Mosquito Control District airstrip and Harns Marsh, a surface water management area operated by the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District (LAMSID).
The preserve is managed as a joint partnership between Conservation 20/20, which owns the land, and LAMSID, which will fund hydrological improvements. A hydrological restoration is currently underway at the preserve, limiting public access. Recreational amenities will be constructed within the preserve upon completion of the hydrological restoration.
The wetlands of the preserve will connect to the adjacent Harns Marsh to create a stormwater management area designed to provide critical floodwater storage and water quality benefits to the Orange River.
