This preserve is a dense mangrove forest in Bonita Springs, bordered to the north by the Imperial River and to the south and west by Little Hickory Bay. The site is in near pristine condition, with the exception of the presence of some exotic plant species along the edges of the preserve.

The dominant plant species of this preserve include red mangrove, black mangrove, white mangrove, and buttonwood.

There is no public access available at this preserve. Paddlers may kayak or canoe near the preserve via the Imperial River.
