Located on the western side of Pine Island, this 8-acre preserve is primarily a mangrove ecosystem. An upland portion of this preserve has been planted with numerous native plants and is the site for the Randell Research Center. This is a joint venture between Lee County, which purchased the property through the Conservation 20/20 program, and the University of Florida Foundation, which manages the land, including its structures and amenities.

A primary management focus at this preserve is to minimize the spread of invasive exotic plant species within this critical coastal habitat. Management is overseen by the University of Florida Foundation, which operates the research center.

A picnic area and other amenities can be enjoyed at the adjacent Randell Research Center. These amenities are not managed by Conservation 20/20.

Recreation Opportunities:
Bird Watching, Nature Study/Photography, Picnic Area
