Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Lee County, Florida will consider the enactment of county ordinances in accordance with Article VIII, Section 1, of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.  The proposed county ordinances will:

 

PROVIDE FOR THE REINSTATEMENT OF COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNIT BUILDING PERMITS THAT EXPIRED, OR WILL EXPIRE BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 2006, AND DECEMBER 31, 2014.

 

AMEND LEE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, CHAPTER 30 TO AUTHORIZE THE PLACEMENT OF BILLBOARDS ON METRO PARKWAY EXTENSION BETWEEN BEN C. PRATT/SIX MILE CYPRESS PARKWAY AND US 41

 

AMEND LEE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, CHAPTER 6, TO REVISE THE LOCAL WIND SPEED ZONES, BY REPLACING MAP M-3 WITH FIGURES 1609A (ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEEDS - RISK CATEGORY II BUILDINGS), 1609B (ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEEDS - RISK CATEGORY III & IV BUILDINGS), AND 1609C (ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEEDS - RISK CATEGORY I BUILDINGS).

 

There will be one public hearing held  in the County Commissioners’ Chambers, Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida.   The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, the 28th day of August, 2012 at 9:30 AM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard. 

 

Copies of this Notice and the proposed Ordinances are on file in the Minutes Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lee County.  The public may inspect or copy the Ordinances during regular business hours at the Division of Public Resources.  The Minutes Office and the Division of Public Resources are located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.  

Interested parties may appear at the meeting, in person or through a representative, and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.  To appeal a Board decision made at this hearing, a record of the proceedings will be necessary. The person appealing the decision must ensure that the necessary verbatim record is made.

 

If adopted by the Board at this meeting, the ordinances will take effect upon their filing with the Office of the Secretary of the Florida Department of State.
