If you are unable to wait for your regularly scheduled pick up, you can bring non-chemical items to the Resource Recovery Facility's Citizen Drop Off area at 10500 Buckingham Rd Fort Myers, FL 33905. You will be charged by weight.

Please Note: All chemicals must be taken to the Topaz Court Solid Waste Facility at  6441 Topaz Court, Fort Myers, FL 33966. You can also find a collection event near you.

Special Wastes

Special Wastes that require approval prior to disposal at Lee County facilities include contaminated soils, sediments, sludges and sand; water and wastewater treatment residuals; asbestos containing material; and other materials or by-products that may contain regulated pollutants. 

Special wastes are typically managed at the Lee Hendry Landfill and must be approved and scheduled prior to delivery. 

 Christmas Trees that have had all decorations, lights, tinsel and the stand removed can be set out for collection with your yard waste. Flocked trees need to go out with your trash.
