Lee County, located along Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast, is home to more than 700,000 permanent residents, and because of Lee County's beautiful location, our population swells to over 1.5 million during the winter tourist, spring break and baseball spring-training seasons as our visitors and seasonal residents come to enjoy our wonderful winter climate and endless outdoor activities. Lee County is privileged to not only welcome visitors from around the United States, but also from around the world.

Lee County has a total area of more than 1,200 square miles (3,140 km), of which 780 square miles (2,030 km) is land and 420 square miles (1,110 km) is water. There are endless miles of pristine beaches and countless beautiful barrier islands.

The exceptional men and women of the Department of Public Safety stand at the ready, 24 hours per day, seven days per week, working to care for the residents, visitors and businesses of Lee County.
