Summer Reading Program
Adventure Begins at Your Library
June 1-August 3, 2024

The free, all ages Summer Reading Program is designed to nurture and grow a lifelong love of reading and learning through special events, reading challenges and engaging activities.

Free Book for Children and Teens
Every child and teen can choose a free book at the library during the summertime, while supplies last. Choose from a variety of popular titles. Free books must be claimed in-person by the child or teen at any Lee County Library System branch location.
Special Events
Check out the library’s calendar of events to plan your summer of fun! Special programming for children and teens includes live animal shows, science, magic and more! Adult programs vary by branch. Registration may be required at some locations and space is limited. Grab a monthly programs flyer at the branch or go to leelibrary.net/events to view the full schedule.
Drop-in Activities
Stop by anytime! There is always something happening at our libraries for children and teens.
Reading and Activity Challenges
We provide both online and offline options to challenge you to a summer of reading and adventure. Participants in either format are automatically entered to win branch book baskets for their age group! Participants may choose either the paper or virtual program. One entry, per person, system-wide. Multiple entries may result in disqualification from the prize drawings.

Online
Sign up for a FREE READsquared account at leelibrary.readsquared.com or download the app in the Apple or Google Play Store. Create a family account or individual account in READsquared. If you already have an account, simply log in and add the 2024 Summer Reading Program when it goes live. Earn points by logging daily reading and completing mission activities in READsquared throughout the summer.

Offline
A paper challenge is available at any Lee County Library System location for those who want a fully offline experience. Just pick up a Summer Bucket List Bookmark from your nearest library branch. Check off 15 adventure activities and return the bookmark to the library to complete this challenge.
Prizes
Branch drawings for prize baskets filled with books and other giveaways will take place at the end of the summer on August 9, 2024. Prize giveaways do not require completion of the summer reading program. All summer participants are eligible to win prizes for their age category: pre-k, kids, teens and adult.
